FAQS

Do you do custom sizing and timbers?

We certainly do - please visit the individual product pages or custom quote page.

Do you provide all of the hardware required?

For more information on installation please visit the individual product pages or contact us. This is especially important for Floating Shelves as there are different requirements based on your walls. i.e. for steel studs specialty brackets need to be purchased.

How long will my order take?

Please check the current production time on the product page. Or you can contact us here

Can your timber floating Shelves be installed into brick and tiles?

They certainly can. Our install method works perfectly for brick and they will drill right through tiles to your wall studs.

How do you install your floating shelves?

We recommend metal rods for install (which we supply). We use these as they hold the most amount of weight. Full instructions are included with your order. Once you place your order a link to view the instructions will be included in your confirmation email. for more information please see the product page, we also have many detailed blog posts to help.

Are holes pre-drilled into the floating shelves ready for install?

No, but they can be. We offer this service free of charge. Just leave us a note at checkout with the measurments you would like drilled (wall stud locations) or if your wall is brick we dont need any measurements, we will drill them in proportion to the shelf size.

How much weight do your timber floating shelves and desks hold?

Up to 25kgs per every wall stud they are secured to. All of our standard shelf lengths require at least 2 rods installed, larger ones even more. So the smaller shelves will hold 50kg, bigger shelves more, it depends on the size you order.

Are your products varnished?

Yes they sure are, twice. We use a top grade non toxic varnish that has a clear finish to keep the raw appearance and feel of the timber. The varnish is also kitchen and bathroom grade. Please bear in mind the timber grain and type of timber can determine how smooth the timber is. i.e. American Oak is generally alot smoother then Tasmanian Oak.

Can I order timber samples?

You certainly can! Please head the the samples page to make your order.

My order has arrived damaged, what do I do?

Unfortunately, this can happen from time to time. Please contact us with images and a description of the damages.

My packaging wasn't damaged but my product was dinted, did it leave your warehouse like this?

No, it no uncommon for orders to be damaged due to courier mis treatment, even if its looks ok from the outside. This is why we ask on your confirmation email that all orders are opened with 24 hours and damages reported to us. All of our products are closely inspected before they are wrapped.

My shelving feels a little rough to touch, has it been treated?

Yes of course (unless requested). All of our products are drum sanded, hand sanded and then finished with a final soft hand sand after varnishing. We use a top grade non toxic varnish that has a clear finish to keep the raw appearance and feel of the timber. Please bear in mind the timber grain and type of timber can determine how smooth the timber is. i.e. American Oak is generally alot smoother then Tasmanian Oak.
