Our curved floating shelves aka to us as the "Arch" shelves ~ inspired by our little man Archie. These premium 33mm thick solid Curved Floating Shelves, hand crafted to perfection by our small team from locally sourced timber.
With a unique installation method designed for maximum stability, these shelves can support up to 25kg per timber wall stud secured into, surpassing typical market
standards.

Timber studs / Brick / Cement Walls
We recommend our Curved Floating Shelves are installed by a qualified Tradesman as they must be installed into timber wall studs, brick or cement to hold the weight. We supply metal rods and instructions for the install. A link to instructions are included on your confirmation email.
If you would like holes pre-drilled into your curved floating shelf please leave us a note at checkout with the measurements you would like drilled (wall stud locations) or if your wall is brick or cement we don’t need measurements, we will drill them in proportion to the shelf size.

Steel studs
We do have a solution if your house is steel framed. The weight your wall will hold completely depends on the strength of your gyprock, a tradesperson will be able to advise. We sell brackets here and you can choose an option for them to be rebated into the shelf prior to them leaving our warehouse.

differently and may want to use different fixings depending on the position of the wall studs and if the studs are wooden or steel. The Timber Line do not take any responsibility for issues arising in the installation.

Can your Floating Shelves be installed into brick and tiles?
They certainly can. Our install method works perfectly for brick and they will drill right through tiles to your wall studs.
How do you install your Floating Shelves?
We recommend metal rods for install (which we supply). We use these as they hold the most amound of weight. If you would like a copy of our instructions before purchasing please contact us here.
Are holes pre-drilled into the timber ready for install?
No, but they can be. We offer this service free of charge. Just leave us a note at checkout with the measuments you would like drilled (wall stud locations) or if your wall is brick or tiles we dont need a measurements, we will drill them in proportion to the shelf size.
How much weight do your floating shelves hold?
Up to 25kgs per every wall stud they are secured to. All of our standard shelf lengths require at least 2 rods installed, larger ones even more. So the smaller shelves will hold 50kg, bigger shelves more, it depends on the size you order.
Are the shelves varnished?
Yes, they sure are—twice. We use a top-grade, non-toxic varnish with a clear finish designed to preserve the natural look and raw feel of the timber. This varnish is also kitchen and bathroom grade, so it offers excellent durability while still being safe for your home.
The varnish is completely clear and colour-stable, meaning it protects the timber without altering its natural tones. We avoid oil-based finishes, as they tend to darken or yellow the timber, whereas our varnish keeps the wood looking true to its original colour.
All of our shelves go through the same careful sanding and varnishing process, however some grains will naturally be more coarse than others. This is simply the nature of timber and part of what makes each piece unique.
Why dont you use always recommend brackets?
We dont reommend the traditional brackets (the bar with the two poles attached) because they dont hold alot of weight. Most approx. 10kg per bracket. Our method will hold up to 25kg per rod installed. So if you use a minimum of two rods thats 50kgs minimum. However, this is only our recommendation and you can use the traditional bracket if you or your tradesperson prefers. It is also the only option for steel framed houses.
Can your shelves be installed into a steel framed house?
They can, but the install method is up to you are your tradesperson. The rods we supply and recommend are only for wooden framed homes and brick. But why? this comes down to weight. As our timber is solid, we want you to be able to store as much as you would like on your shelf without worrying about weight. It is still possible for steel framed homes to purchase our shelves (many do!) using a traditional bracket but it depends on the strength of your plaster, and not something we can comment on without actually inspecting your walls. A tradesperson will be able to help if you are unsure. If you would like to purchase our shelves but your house is steel framed, send us an email and we will help as much as we can to make it work for you.
Can you remove Floating Shelves?
It is possible, but its also dependent on the adhesive you use. But please bare in mind there will be holes left in the wall.

Moved into a new home and wanted to transform the kitchen so we got rid of the old brown kitchen splashback and replaced with something bright and new. We needed to bring a little warmth in and thought a Timber Shelf would both bring the warmth and create a little bit of a feature. We love this product - fabulous quality, thick timber shelf with stunning rounded corners. Wont lie - it was quite difficult to install as a regular non tradie, but we got there in the end and absolutely love the final result.

Great floating shelves - used to create a TV cabinet under TV. Were able to install using pre-drilled holes in shelves. Timberline even cut a small cord nook out for us free of charge. Back of one shelf was a slightly warped but cannot really see when installed. Would recommend!

Love it! Beautiful quality and quick shipping. Was a little bit confused with the installation process though. On the website it looked like we’d get a bracket to attach to the shelf and then fix it to the wall but we just received two very long rods that needed to be superglued in place. Seems to be holding fine though.
